5 Top Tips to Save Money on Beauty Products

5 top tips to save money on beauty products

Most of us lovely ladies enjoy using make up and cosmetics, but sometimes it can get costly. So here are my 5 top tips for saving money on beauty products:

1. Homemade Beauty Products and Hacks

How great is the idea of making our own beauty products at home. Pinterest is very inspiring, with lots of different products to try and create! Plus, there are tonnes of great hacks too, using products you might find in your home. Like, did you know that you could use coconut oil to help shave your legs, deodorise your body and as a lip gloss? There are so many multi-use products that can save you money so get pinning to find out more!

2. Check out the Drugstore Dupes

Of course we would all love to use high-end beauty products and cosmetics, but sometimes we just can’t afford to. However, there are so many great dupes for these products available in your local drugstore. Here are some of the best ones I’ve come across:

As you can see, there is such a big price difference, yet the products are actually very similar.

3. Shop Online

If you read this blog often, you’ll know I’m a bit obsessed with shopping online (for example 10 of the best places to shop online). Therefore, it just had to be in one of my tips! You can use the shopping comparison tool on Google to find the product you’re after at the best price. Here is a quick price comparison I did for the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge:

It’s quite a handy tool if you want to shop around and get the best price, plus it adds it up to a total. It’s also good to be aware of when online stores are offering free shipping or deals on certain items.

4. Swap with Friends

Speak to your friends and see if they have any make-up they want to swap. Obviously, this wouldn’t be recommended for items like mascara, but it might work for other make-up. For example, have you ever picked up a foundation, tried it out once and felt it was completely the wrong colour for your skin so shoved it in a drawer? Or perhaps you were given some make-up for  a gift and it just isn’t you. This is likely to have happened to your friends too, so why not do some swaps? You could even make a fun evening out of it!

5. GratisfactionUK*

I recently came across GratisfactionUK, the UK’s fastest growing freebies site. I’m always up for a freebie, so couldn’t wait to see what gems I could spot! Being a bit of a beauty junkie, I wanted to see what they had. Clicking straight onto cosmetics and beauty, I noticed that they currently have offers on Aussie, Benefit and Bare Minerals. You can get your hands on the items through competitions, giveaways and samples. Therefore, this website is perfect if you want to save a bit of money on beauty products. There are also flash bargains and voucher codes so it’s worth checking out GratisfactionUK if you are shopping online and want to get a good deal on whatever you may be buying.

I agree with shopping online! I’m the mother of 3 soon to be 4 kids and it just makes things so much easier, then having to drag them in and out of the car constantly!

I always search around online for discount codes before I buy anything as you never know. And sometimes if you leave something in your basket for a few days you’ll get an email saying ‘Forgot something? Here’s 10% off’ x

I love seeing drugstore dupes. I usually buy blush at the drugstore because really how could there be any difference. 🙂

I have found that some of the drugstore dupes are just as good if not better than the name brands. I have a drawer full of dupes makeup. I don’t mind them at all.

Online shopping is the best way usually!

  15. July 13, 2017 / 12:06 am

Great tips. It’s always important to know the true retail price of an item before shopping online. So many sites like to jack up the price and make you think you are getting a good deal.

There are definitely some great deals to be had if you are up for drugstore dupes. I actually think that in some (if not many cases) they are at least as good, if not better, than the high end option.
