Monthly Faves

August faves

So we somehow arrived in September, how did that happen? The summer seems to fly by quicker each year. I had a jam packed August, and so I want to share with you my August faves!

1. Hello Happy Soft Blur Foundation

In August I got my hands on Hello Happy Soft Blur Foundation. I won it earlier in the month in a competition run by Louise Pentland on Instagram.

It is a lightweight matte foundation that claims to even out skin tone and blur imperfections. I love the light to medium coverage it offers, how well it applies to the skin and the fact that it feels like you aren’t wearing anything. I never thought I would say this about a foundation, but it even smells nice! And just look at the packaging – isn’t it just the cutest thing ever?! The only thing that makes me sad about this foundation is the small bottle size – I can see myself using it up very quickly!

2. Solihull Summer Fest

Over August bank holiday weekend I attended Solihull Summer Fest. It was the third year that the festival had run, although I had never been before. The event ran over 2 days and I was lucky enough to have tickets for both days. I had won VIP tickets on a Facebook competition ran by the taxi firm sponsoring the festival – A2B Radio Cars. It was fab having VIP tickets as it meant that me and my guests were really near the stage and didn’t have to wait too long in the queue for the bar. We were lucky enough to see the likes of Busted, Blue and Razorlight – it was like I was a teenager all over again! I loved the family vibe of the festival as well as the fact that all ticket profits were donated to Help Harry Help Others, a local cancer support charity. We would love to be able to go again next year if we can.

3. Baby Fashion

Throughout August I have loved dressing my little girl. If you didn’t know, back in July she was born (see July faves). She has the cutest clothes and her extensive wardrobe is so much better than mine! One of my fave pieces is this polar bear sleepsuit. I got it from Boots Mini Club range and it is so soft and snuggly! She has lots of pieces from lots of different shops that we have purchased as well as receiving as gifts. My little Mollie is definitely a very lucky little girl!

4. Family Time

We were lucky in August to get some time to spend together as a family. This snap was taken when we went to St Nicholas Park in Warwick with the Hubster’s side of the family. Despite the fact that the night before little lady had kept us awake, we had such a lovely day out. Fresh air and a bit of exercise walking did us the world of good. I’m hoping we can have lots of family time in September.

5. Slogan Tees

I was loving slogan tees back in August. Being a momma to a newborn means that I throw on jeans and a tee most days – quick to grab and comfy to wear. This tee totally sums up my life right now! I’ve never been a morning person, however I’ve seen more hours of the morning in the last 8 weeks than I probably have in the whole of my life. I picked up this tee a few years back and I love it.

So these would have to be my August faves. What would yours be? Let me know in the comments!

Until next time…

Jean xoxo
