Monthly Faves

May Faves

May faves cover

So May is nearly coming to an end which means it’s time to share my May favourites! Here are a few things I have been loving this month…

1.Bessie Queen of the Sky

So I was very kindly sent this book by Queen Girl Publications earlier this month to share with my class (I’m an Early Years teacher, just incase you didn’t know). They share stories of real women which they turn into fairy tales to inspire girls to follow their dreams. As a teacher of 3 and 4-year-old girls this was totally up my street! The story is spot on, the pictures are beautiful and I was so happy to share this book with my girls. I’ll be reviewing it very soon so look out for that!

2. Getting away from it all

So I’ve been very lucky this month to have not one but two weekends away (and in succession I might add!). The first was a trip to Center Parcs with some of my friends, and the second was a trip to Wales with my husband’s side of the family. Whilst they were very different, I really enjoyed them both and it was fab to have a change of scenery. This snap is our view from just outside the farmhouse in Wales that we were staying in. Time away made me realise I really need to do it more often and how good it is for me.

3. Summer-inspired food

So with Summer starting next month, and some of the beautiful weather we have been experiencing in the U.K recently (I know, shock horror!), I’m totally about Summer inspired food at the mo! I had this at my local Slug and Lettuce and it was really yummy. Healthy, tasty and light, it was perfect for a warm day eating out with friends. I can’t wait to see what other tasty food I discover over the next few months.

4. Spring/Summer fashion

I’m not gonna lie, I do love the Autumn and the Winter, wrapping up in an oversized knit, wearing a comfy pair of boots and a cute beanie. But, at the same time, I really love the Spring and Summer too, and am totally ready for it this year! Here I am rocking a super comfy pair of floral trousers I picked up from M&S a little while ago and some cute shoesies from Next that I totally love. In the warm weather, it’s all about comfort for me, but it is also nice to rock a little bit of style when I can.

5. Taking care of myself

May has been totally full-on, especially with the weekends away, and in some ways I feel I’ve neglected myself a little and not taken as good a care of myself as I should have. That’s why I was so happy to come across these goodies from Grounded Body Scrub that I had actually picked up a few months ago and put away in a drawer. I’m hoping to spend the last few days of May having a little pamper and taking care of myself a bit more and can’t wait to use these products. I’m sure I’ll be reviewing them very soon!

So what have you been loving this month? Let me know in the comments.

Until next time…

Jean xoxo
