I don’t know about you but more time in bed trumps spending time doing my make up. Especially on a Monday morning! This probably stems from the fact I’m pretty clueless when it comes to make up any way so it’s not really worth me taking a lot of time on doing my face. Wanna know what I use to do my make up in under 5 mins? Then read on!
So here’s me with my minimal make up look…
As you can see it’s really simple. As a teacher of little ones, I don’t feel the need for a lot of make up. For me, I’m just happy to look awake! It’s a full on job, so I need a look that’ll last the day. And I don’t want to scare the parents too much so a bit of make up is definitely needed! So here are the products I use:
First of all I use a primer, this one is Rimmel’s Fix and Perfect. I literally just squeeze a small amount on my fingers and rub it in all over my face. It only takes 30 seconds. I like the way it feels on my face and it’s a reasonable price. I picked mine up from Asda for just a fiver.
Next I pop on some foundation. I’m not going to lie, for years I’ve been scared on foundation. Getting the wrong shade, it looking to cakey on, it not suiting me, my worries were endless! But I was keen to try Rimmel’s match perfection to see if it was as good as I had heard. I picked it up in the shade ivory and again it was from Asda and like the primer it was a fiver on special offer. Just like the primer, I use my fingers to rub it in. I only use one pump because a little bit of this foundation goes a long way. I think the shade works well with my skin tone. Plus so quick and easy to apply! In the future I’ll probably try applying it with brushes or with my beauty blender, but for now my fingers are doing a good enough job!
Next I use Nyx dark circle concealer cortecteur. I literally just put my finger in the pot and dab it on the dark circles under my eyes. I also use it as a concealer for any spots or imperfections I have on my skin. Plus it’s the perfect size to throw in my bag for any touch ups I need to do during the day. I picked mine up in the shade fair from Feel unique for £6.50 and really do love it.
Next I thrown on some mascara. Doesn’t really need explaining! I just do one coat. I like how this mascara makes my eyes look. The only down side I would say is that throughout the day I do get some black bits under my eyes. However I’m yet to find a mascara that doesn’t do this, I think I must just blink a lot! Let me know in the comments if you’ve found one that doesn’t do this! I picked up this L’Oréal mega volume miss hippie in black from Boots and it’s a really reasonable price.
And finally I stick a bit of lipgloss on. I’m not gonna lie, this lipgloss has been floating around in my makeup bag for a while now. But it’s so easy to wear, it’s so neutral and it looks after my lips even in the autumn. I can’t find it any more on the misguided website, but have found this one which seems similar.
Until next time…
