Superdrug Selly Oak Opening and Mini Haul

Superdrug Selly Oak Opening and Mini Haul cover

Back in September, I was invited to the newest Superdrug store in Birmingham, opening at Selly Oak. The store is located in Selly Oak Shopping Park, which has only recently opened. It houses a range of stores, including Argos, Next, Nando’s, Card Factory and of course Superdrug. This was my first trip to the shopping park, and I couldn’t wait to see what it had to offer. Parking was straightforward, as well as being free, in a large car park. Once the car was sorted, I made my way in store eagerly.

Looking Around the Store

So I visited the store on the day of its opening. There was a lot of buzz and excitement and plenty of people there to check out this new place.

Here are some photos of the various ranges included in store. You can check out a list of the full range of brands that they stock here.

This Superdrug stocked plenty of healthcare essentials. Plus they have a great range of nail products, including those pictured from Orly.

Just look at all of those goodies! Loving all of these fab pampering products in this aisle.

There is a massive range of hair essentials available at this Superdrug, as well as beauty essentials too.

There are plenty of hair care items to choose from as well, offered from many different brands. As you can see, there are plenty of offers on the items, shown on the pink stickers and various signs.

Look at all that fake tan! Everything you need for sun-kissed skin, despite the autumnal British weather!

As you can see there are lots of different make up brands to choose from, from Nip+Fab to Revolution. There are also plenty of offers in store, such as this 3 for 2 deal.

Just look at all those lovely goodies! Perfect for Christmas prezzies (or just a treat to yourself!). You can find their full range of Christmas gifts here.

Ooooh, I spy a beauty studio! This store offers a brow and lash bar, as well as a nail bar too.

Time For a Pamper

Because of the store opening on that day, I was very kindly treated to a gel file and polish, usually priced at £18. You can find a list of other nail services and their prices here.

So here are my bare nails. Before choosing a colour, they were filed and prepped, ready to look their best.

Here you can see me having my nails done by my very lovely nail technician Sensi. I opted for a lovely red shade from the Orly range.

A close up of my lovely nails! Plus, how nice are Sensi’s nails? I loved the colour of hers too!

So here are my lovely nails all finished. I was really pleased with how they looked. The gel polish dried pretty quick which is perfect for me.

I couldn’t help but admire my nails as I continued to look round the store. I love the graphics that Superdrug have throughout the shop such as this one.

Goodie Bag

During my visit to the store, I was very kindly given a goodie bag. And here’s what was inside! A range of lovely items, including a make-up bag, facial wipes, lipstick and face masks plus many other goodies.

My Mini Haul

So of course I couldn’t visit the store and not do a cheeky haul of my own!

These are the goodies I purchased instore. Not the most exciting haul I’ve ever done, but plenty of essentials here with a bit of fun thrown in for good measure!

So I picked up a pack of toothbrushes…but not for my teeth! I’ve been a little more into cleaning since I discovered Mrs Hinch a few months back so thought these might be handy to have within my cleaning stash for those tricky to scrub areas.

Perhaps its my inner child, but I just couldn’t resist this dream team! Bubble bath destined to look and smell amazing?! Yes please!

And here we go again! Hand wash that smells like some of my fave sweets? How can I resist?!

I picked up some vitamins for my other half. There was so many to choose from it was hard to know where to start!

This treatment kit was on offer so I thought I would give it a go. I’ll let you know how I find it. I plan on using it with my electric toothbrush for a dazzling white smile.

Two items to (hopefully!) make me smell good…need I say any more?

And of course who can resist chocolate coins? If you’re going to put them next to the till, you know I’m not going to be able to resist! Designed to be eaten at Christmas, I pretty much scoffed the lot as soon as I got home!

My Opinion

I must say I was really impressed with this store. There was a wide range of products, the staff were lovely and there were plenty of great deals. I also appreciated the fact that visitors to this branch are able to treat themselves to a little pamper whilst in store, either at the brow or lash bar or at the nail bar. I definitely plan on revisiting this store next time I am in the area.

So this was what I discovered at the new Selly Oak store of Superdrug. What do you think to the new shop? What would you have treated yourself to? Let me know in the comments!

Until next time…

Jean xoxo
