That Funky Golf Place Review
So a little while ago I heard that The Funky Golf Place had opened near to me and I was desperate to go! Whilst I’m absolutely rubbish at crazy golf, I really enjoy playing it so I knew I wanted to visit and give it a try. So I bagged myself an invite*, arranged a baby sitter and took the Hubster and some friends for a game! So now let’s get onto That Funky Golf Place Review.
What’s it all about?
That Funky Golf Place is a venue that opened earlier this year that offers a fun and funky twist on crazy golf. Each hole offers exciting and different themes to keep you entertained. It is a purpose-built indoor course, which is designed to be fun, challenging, and a great place to hang out with friends and family.
Is it adults only?
No! Whilst some crazy golf places these days are a tad rude and therefore adults only, this one isn’t – so it’s perfect for a bit of family fun! Children are welcome aged 5 and above just because of the nature of the game, so no teeny tiny ones I’m afraid. However it is adults only on Friday and Saturday nights after 6.30pm so you can have a child-free game of golf if you fancy it!
There’s also a snazzy cocktail bar which serves a range of drinks and cocktails.
How much does it cost?
Adults cost £10, children are £7. This is for 18 holes. You can just rock up to the venue and pay, as well as being able to book online in advance.
Where is it?
Situated by Becketts farm, Alcester Rd, Wythall, Birmingham, B47 6AJ.
Let’s see what it is like!
So enough explaining from me, let’s get onto some pics of the place! Now I apologise in advance for the picture quality, my camera at the time wasn’t great, it was dark inside, and I had a couple of drinks on my way round! Hopefully though, you’ll still get a good idea of what it was like.
Some of the holes
Now it’s time to show some of the holes. I won’t go showing you them all in case you want to go and it spoils the surprise. Here are a few of my faves!
So these were some of the holes and a few shots of the decor in the place. I think you’ll agree it has a really cool vibe.
Now it is time to add up the scores…(men busy in action).
Needless to say I didn’t win! But I didn’t mind too much.
So before, during an after the golf we had a couple of drinkies. Therefore it is now time to show you some pics of the bar.
So here was the bar and the seating area. They also showed sports on the TV. The fab bar meant that you could go and hang out there, even if you didn’t want to play any golf! I really liked the decor.
Time for a Drink
Of course it was time for a drink! I couldn’t resist one of my absolute faves, the Pornstar Martini! (remember I featured it here?!). There were lots of other fab ones to choose from too.
So at the time of visiting, the venue weren’t serving food and had a pizza van parked outside. However, they are now serving their own food on the premises.
I must say that we had the best fun at The Funky Golf Place. A great, chilled out venue and somewhere to have a laugh with friends. I liked the fact that children are welcome, but that there’s also the opportunity to visit when they won’t be there if you fancy an ‘adults only’ evening. Price-wise, I think its a fair amount to spend on a fun filled evening doing something slightly out of the ordinary. The cocktails were fab and I really liked the relaxed atmosphere of the bar. I would be interested to go again and check out their food menu, so hopefully another visit will be on the cards again soon. As you can probably tell, I would definitely recommend this place!
So what do you think? Would you like to visit? Let me know in the comments!
Until next time…
*I was gifted 4 tickets for the golf in exchange for this blog post. However, all opinions are my own, and I would never recommend something I didn’t love myself!
